Sipes & Son General Contractors is a construction company with expertise in structural and renovation contracting. Since our founding in 2000, we have served both residential and commercial clients in the Pittsburgh region - the place that we call home. We provide our time and services to our clients so that we can contribute to their project goals.

With our roots in the early work of Chester Sipes, the father of Chad Sipes, our company stands on the shoulders of successful renovation and construction projects that span decades of work and experience.

Today, in partnership together, Chad and Lori Sipes have expanded Sipes & Son to become one of the most trusted and recommended construction companies in the City of Pittsburgh. Headquartered at the corner of Herron Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard, Sipes & Son General Contractors is aligned and prepared for continued growth with their clients and the City of Pittsburgh.

Chad Sipes, Owner

After spending two years as a music major at Duquesne University, Chad Sipes decided to join his father’s Sewickley-based Village Remodeling in 1999. One year later, Sipes & Son General Contractors was born. Over the next five years, Chad studied all of the different skills that his father had acquired over his career – carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry.  Of all the trades, however, Chad found leadership and management most appealing. Chad began to integrate new ideas and sustainable construction methods into the company’s operations.

Chad expanded the company’s service area, hired more employees, put more trucks on the road. In 2007, along with his wife, Lori Sipes, he formed Sipes, LLC as a parent company to Sipes & Son General Contractors. In 2007, Chad became the first accredited Green Roof Professional (GRP) in Western Pennsylvania. In 2011, Chad became a licensed electrician.

Chad still writes and performs music and enjoys spending time with his wife and young sons, Harper and Clark - along with his father, Chester, who retired from the Company in 2014.
